Kate Huger Quinn

As an anthropologist and archaeologist I examine how people engage with the natural environment and the consequences of that interaction over time.

As an artist I can visually interpret the relationship between people and the human and natural environment.  Art enables me to communicate how I see this relationship from broad strokes to the details of light and dark. I want my paintings to touch a person’s senses and to see the world from a different view.

I received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Anthropology and worked in the field for over 40 years.  Now I am on a life journey of learning art. My teachers: Diane Rappisi, Katie Cassidy, Mary Pritchard,  Tara Will inspire me.  The workshops with Richard McKinley, Ken DeWaard, Michael Chesley Johnson, and Albert Handell have been life changing.

Exhibitions

My paintings have been exhibited and won awards in Local, Regional and National juried shows
