Our Story

Cultivated by the creative duo behind local furniture studio, Perrin Woodworking, we are thrilled to introduce Windhorse ~ Gallery & Marketplace.  Located in front of our woodworking studio @ The Shed in the heart of Port Royal, SC, Windhorse is a culmination of custom one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, coastal inspired but far from ordinary works by local & national artists, a carefully curated selection of small-production/natural wines, the best artisan & farmstead cheeses, and other specialty products.  Featuring a seasonally rotating collection, Windhorse will feature works that inspire the mind and wines that transport the palate. 

What is the meaning behind Windhorse?

We are so happy that you asked!  While brainstorming ideas for the new gallery space, a dear family member shared the concept of Windhorse.  Explained to be an ancient Tibetan philosophy, rooted in the belief that the wind horse is a symbol of the human soul exuding well-being, prosperity, and good fortune. 

For us, the meaning of Windhorse is the inspiration & driving force behind every piece that we create & curate. Our mission is to provide a selection of goods that are made by hand with purpose & prosperity, within a space that delivers comfort & curiosity, promoting a sense of health & happiness among our dearest of family, friends, neighbors, and guests.
