The Grapevine

You heard it here first—everything you’ve been wondering about Windhorse, answered.

From wine by the glass to woodworking tours, artist features to cheese sourcing—we’ve gathered the most commonly asked questions (and a few you didn’t know you had) to help you get the lay of the land. Consider this your insider's guide to all things Windhorse.

Is Windhorse a wine bar?

Not quite! While we’re not a traditional wine bar, we do feature a rotating selection of wines by the glass every day. You're also welcome to grab a bottle and relax in our tasting lounge—perfect for small groups looking for a cozy, curated experience.

Do you Make all your wine here?

Nope! We don’t produce wine on-site, but we source from all over, with a primary focus on small-production, mindfully made wines. These are wines from producers who farm with intention and harvest with respect for the land—the kind of bottles that tell a story and taste even better because of it.

Do you offer tastings?

We sure do!

Most Fridays, we host ‘Uncorked’, a casual, drop-in style tasting where we showcase new arrivals and seasonal favorites. It’s the perfect way to discover something fresh—whether you're sipping here or grabbing a bottle to take home.

Every third Thursday of the month, we also host our Wine Club Social. This event is open to all, but we’ll be pouring the exclusive club selections—available only for members to take home.

And anytime we’re open and pouring by the glass, we’re always happy to offer you a taste of what’s on deck that day. Just ask!

You can always check the calendar to see what’s happening!

Where does the furniture come from?

Great question! Many of our pieces are crafted right here by our sister company, Perrin Woodworking, and we also work with select partners to source mindfully made, upholstered furniture that complements our coastal, eclectic vibe.

Are all of the artists local?

Not all, but we love showcasing local and regional talent. We also feature artists from beyond the area whose coastal-inspired works help us bring the vision of the space to life.

Where do you source your cheeses?

We offer a rotating selection of artisan and farmstead cheeses, sourced from small farm producers, including one of our favorites—a local goat cheese maker from our nearby farmers market. It’s all about quality, sustainability, and flavor.

What is The Shed?

The Shed is the endearing nickname locals have long used for the big warehouse building right in the heart of Port Royal. We loved the charm and history behind the name so much, we decided to keep it alive.

You’ll see “The Shed” in big, bold letters on the front of the building—but it’s more than just a name. Today, The Shed is home to Windhorse (that’s us!) and just behind us, our sister company Perrin Woodworking. Together, we’re proud to bring new life, creativity, and community to this beloved local landmark.

Do you offer tours of the woodworking studio?

Absolutely! We love showing people the full circle of not just what we make—but how we make it, which is equally (if not more) important to us. If you're curious about the craftsmanship behind our furniture, just ask—we’d be happy to give you a closer look.
